Lead technology developer for center that supports faculty development to all 10 Maricopa Community Colleges. General evangelist for meaningful uses of technology in learning. Investigates new technologies such as streaming media, RSS, weblogs, wikis, and social software. Developed interactive content and design, plus event services including online event registration for web server since December 1993 at <www.mcli.dist.maricopa.edu/> Example projects include Maricopa Learning eXchange (MLX) (www.mcli.dist.maricopa.edu/mlx/), online grants application and review system (www.mcli.dist.maricopa.edu/learngrant/), Hero's Journey www.mcli.dist.maricopa.edu/smc/journey/ plus others listed at www.mcli.dist.maricopa.edu/proj/. Multimedia production of instructional applications such as Learning English Electronically (CD-ROM), Negative Reinforcement University (CD-ROM; Web/Shockwave), Research Methods (CD-ROM; Web). Provides leadership in issues of technology planning and online learning for Ocotillo www.mcli.dist.maricopa.edu/ocotillo/ initiative including planning for major activities such as Ocotillo Retreats, year end events for 80-200+ Maricopa faculty, staff, and administrators. Planned and coordinate faculty development events such as Dialogue Days (www.mcli.dist.maricopa.edu/dd/). Provide consulting, workshops, and resources for faculty and staff. Cultivate alliances with external organizations such as League for Innovation, New Media Consortium, and TLTGroup. Created multimedia learning materials working with faculty from several college sites using HyperCard and Toolbook. Researched and promoted early internet resources, installed experimental Gopher server, and launched the first web server in the Maricopa system (1993). Created Writing HTML tutorial www.mcli.dist.maricopa.edu/tut/ (1994) still in use today.
Experienced in software includes Adobe (PhotoShop, Macromedia (Director, Flash, Breeze) Streaming Media (QuickTime, Real, Windows Media), web design (HTML, CSS, XML, XHTML), programming/scripting (JavaScript, Perl, PHP), database development (mySQL) in Macintosh, Windows, and Unix/Linux environments. Beta tester for first version of Macromedia Shockwave (1995), Macromedia Director 7.0 (1999), Groove 3D (1999).
