The Storytelling Institute gives concerts, workshops, presentations, and brings in guest storytellers for our Spring Festival. These events are held throughout the year on the South Mountain Community College Campus at 7050 South 24th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85042. With the execption of our workshops, our events are free and open to the public. Myth Informed Fall 2008

During the Fall semester 2008, join Institute storytellers Sandy Oglesby, Marilyn Torres, and Penny Morningstar in the Studio Theatre for a series of performances of myths from around the world. Each performance begins at 6:30pm with the telling of the myth, followed by a discussion of the story and its major themes.

Attached is a sheet with details of when National Tellers will be telling for school children, workshops they will be giving, and the Concerts for the Mesa Storytelling Festival 2008. The evening concerts cost $11 a piece. The workshops are free with an evening concert ticket. An individual workshop ticket is $5. All events during the day on Saturday are FREE. A World of Wonder: Folktales for Grownups Spring 2009

During the Spring semester 2009, join Institute Faculty Members and students in the Studio Theatre for a series of performances of folktales from around the world. Each performance begins at 6:30pm with a short introduction to the featured foltale type. The featured stories will then be told, followed by a discussion of the stories and their primary characteristics and themes. Late-comers will not be seated once the featured stories have begun.
